Safety in our Junior kindergarten Program
Each day, highly skilled teachers create a balance of independent discovery, cooperative learning and generous outdoor playtime, all leading to school-readiness in a safe and secure environment.
Our teachers supervise and facilitate cooperative play and collaborative problem solving using age appropriate materials. Playground safety is a top priority, and all children and faculty throughout the School, maintaining the highest of safety standards, wear closed-toe shoes.
Junior Kindergarten Program
Our Junior Kindergarten Program is the best preparation for kindergarten and beyond. Children continue their journey of exploration and discovery in our Junior Kindergarten program. With this Junior Kindergarten Program, teachers help students apply their developing literacy and math skills through purposeful, planned learning experiences. Lesson plans allow children to learn from their teachers and from interactions with other children. Students will complete the Saxon Math Kindergarten curriculum and the ABeka Reading and Writing curriculum. Students engage in weekly science lessons and explore the world of science independently on a daily basis.
The teachers also adjust lesson plans to the children’s developmental levels. If a few children haven’t mastered a concept yet, the teachers adapt the lesson to ensure it meets all the children’s educational needs and builds on what they already know.
Teachers also encourage students to explore their passions and interests and teach them to recover from mistakes. These experiences improve children’s confidence, promote perseverance and strengthen children’s executive function skills, which help them accomplish their goals.
All programs are customized to your child’s progress, needs and age. In this Junior Kindergarten program, children enjoy a comprehensive curriculum that ensures their readiness to succeed in elementary school and beyond.
